How God’s Word Specifically Answers the Longings of our Hearts

Hi, Friends. It’s Your Enneagram Coach Beth, here to talk to you about one of my favorite topics, God’s care for you. Our Heavenly Father intricately created you and knows every nuance of your personality. No matter your Type, and the fears, weaknesses, and struggles that come along with it, you’re His cherished child, and He is absolutely crazy about you.

This is why I teach the Enneagram through the lens of the Gospel. Wherever you land on the Enneagram (If you don’t know your Type, go take my free test!), you have a specific message your heart is longing to hear, and only Christ can satisfy it. We can look to other people and things, but lasting freedom and abundant life can only be found when we depend solely on Him!

If you’re a believer in Jesus, all the hope you need can be found in the Bible. You can run to it for peace and assurance, especially in those moments when it’s hard to figure out what in the world God is doing. The Word is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16-17), living and active (Hebrews 4:12), a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105).

And did you know there are over 3,000 promises from God in the Bible? We’re told “fear not” 365 times, and the word courage is mentioned 116 times. There is never a moment when you’re not under His care and the object of His love!

Here are just a few of my favorites of God’s promises in scripture:

• In John 10:28-29, He promises that no matter what, our salvation is secure.
• In James 1:5, He promises to give us wisdom when we ask for it.
• In 1 Corinthians 10:13, He promises to provide a way out of temptation.
• In Philippians 1:6, He promises to finish the good work he has begun in us.
• In Hebrews 13:5, He promises to never leave us or forsake us.
• In Luke 12:40, He promises that He will come back.

Scripture for each Type

These verses illustrate God’s love for each of us and specifically answer the Core Longing of every heart. In addition to saving it as your phone wallpaper, I encourage you to write your verse in your journal, post it in a place where you’ll see it often, and even memorize it. You can also save it as your screensaver on your phone or background on your computer. Let it remind you of the peace and assurance you have in your Father, and that whatever your struggles, you can find true rest in His arms!
